As the Explore the Bible team looked ahead to Fall 2017, we began to discuss the arrangement and position of the content in our resources. We wondered if we could create a different type of learning experience by rearranging the content we already have. We didn’t want to rearrange just for the sake of rearranging. The model we currently use is solid and has stood the test of time. So we set some clearly defined goals to guide the rearranging:
- Account for emerging educational models and practices.
- Facilitate daily Bible engagement.
- Support smaller groups that hold each other accountable.
- Simplify starting new Bible study groups.
We tried different arrangements, evaluating each based on the four guiding goals. Selected church leaders gave their input. A specific direction began to emerge and became what we are calling the Explore the Bible Daily Discipleship Guide.
The same trustworthy content you have come to expect is still there, it’s just arranged in a different way to provide a different learning experience. The way we have done it in the past will continue to be available. For many of your groups, the current approach will continue to meet their needs. But there are some groups that may benefit more by using the Daily Discipleship Guide. You simply have an alternative that may better fit the needs of your group.
Over the next few weeks, you will find more posts about this resource with a focus on the four guiding goals that directed the creation of this new resource.
